They bring joy into my life and life into our lives here on this planet. Going about their business with order and consistency every day. They have helped my husband and I get through a very difficult and sad year.

I live downtown in a city, and the music of songbirds is much more melodic than the noise of a garbage truck groaning up the hill. Songbirds remind me that there is another world out there…one more peaceful and hopeful than the one I currently inhabit.

With all the chaos in the world, birds just do their thing day after day, night after night. They sing, fly, look for food, nest, call and bring order and consistency to our world. And it’s a much better place because of birds.

Two eeks ago my partner and I went to King’s Canyon NP and continued on into Sequoia NP. The music of the birds in that area of great wildernesses was like a choir in a cathedral.
